Effective May 1, 2008, or as contracts allow, Southern Clay Products Inc. will increase list and off-list prices of Optiflo® nonionic associative thickeners by an average of 3 percent, castor oil derivatives by $0.10 to $0.25 per pound, Y-Products by $0.10 pound, Permont® additives by $0.03 per pound and Newcowel® emulsions by 15 to 22 percent.
Effective May 5, 2008, or as contracts allow, BASF will increase its prices by $0.06 per dry pound in the United States and Canada for all Butofan® medium-solids styrene-butadiene latex products and for Styrofan® and Styronal® styrene-butadiene latex products used in the adhesives, architectural coatings, sealants, construction, paper and nonwovens markets.
Dow Biocides, a business group of The Dow Chemical Co. (Dow) and its affiliates, has announced a 10 percent price increase in the United States for all list and off-list prices of biocide products DOWICIL™ 75 Preservative and CANGUARD™ 64 Preservative.

Effective April 15, 2008, Wacker Polymers, L.P. will implement a price increase of up to 5 percent per wet pound on all prices for vinyl acetate ethylene copolymer and vinyl acetate vinyl chloride copolymer dispersions sold in the Americas region. These products are sold by the company under the Airflex® trademarks.
OPC Polymers has announced a price increase across all product lines to be effective on shipments made after April 11, 2008. Customers will receive letters indicating the level of increase on their specific products of interest.
OMNOVA Solutions’ Specialty Chemicals business has announced a price increase of up to $0.04 per wet pound for acrylic, styrene acrylic, vinyl acrylic and vinyl acetate emulsion polymers. The increase is effective April 1, 2008, for all specialty markets and is in addition to increases announced previously.

Air Products has announced that, effective April 1, 2008, it will be increasing the prices for all polyurethane amine and metal-based catalysts by five percent in all regions of the world, excluding Dabco TEDA products in China where Air Products announced that, effective March 1, 2008, prices will increase on DABCO TEDA products by 5-15 percent.
OPC Polymers has announced the implementation of a vegetable oil surcharge effective on shipments after March 15, 2008.
