BASF Announces Price Increases on Resins and Polyetheramines in North America

April 7, 2008

BASF has announced that it will increase resin prices an average of six to eight percent across all market segments effective May 1, 2008, or as contracts allow. The price increase pertains to list and off-list pricing and includes, but is not limited to, the following product lines: JONCRYL®, Laroflex®, Laromer®, Laropal®, Lucirin®, Luhydran™, Luron®, Lutonal®, Luwipal® and Plastopal®.

The price increase pertains to North American markets only and is necessary due to escalating energy, transportation and raw material costs in the region.

BASF also announced that effective May 1, 2008, or as allowed by contract, the company will increase all list and off-list prices in North America for its polyetheramine products as follows: polyetheramine D230 (PEA D230) will increase by $0.10 per pound; polyetheramine D2000 (PEA D2000) will increase by $0.10 per pound; polyetheramine D400 (PEA D400) will increase by $0.15 per pound; polyetheramine T403 (PEA T403) will increase by $0.15 per pound; and polyetheramine T5000 (PEA T5000) will increase by $0.15 per pound.
