Andersen Windows and Doors, Bayport, MN, is seeking a Coatings Development Engineer. The focus of this position is to provide a deep technical understanding of various coating formulations and coating processing systems. The individual will be identifying and developing new coating systems with internal and external suppliers. The role will also extend to the commercialization of the new technologies by working with manufacturing and design teams. The associate will be responsible for defining customer requirements for coating systems for windows and doors and developing techniques to deliver optimum coating systems in terms of customer requirements, cost and quality.
Qualified candidates must have a BS in a chemical engineering or a related technical discipline and a minimum of 5 years of engineering experience, including experience with industrial coatings materials and/or processes. Must have extensive experimental skills, including proficiency with Design of Experiments, and proficiency with MS Office and Minitab. Strong presentation skills and strong customer focus are required. Six Sigma or Design for Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.
