Huntsman to Increase Performance Products Pricing in Americas Region Huntsman Corporation, The Woodlands, Texas, announced that its Performance Products division will increase prices across a range of products in the Americas region, generally by $0.05/lb to as much as $0.10/lb. The price increases are to be effective July 1, 2007, or as applicable contracts allow.
Product categories receiving price increases include surfactants, linear alkylbenzene (LAB), amines, maleic anhydride, propylene oxide (PO) and propylene glycol (PG). Together, these categories include over 40 grades of products that account for over 1.8 billion pounds of production for use in hundreds of applications, including personal care, household detergents, construction materials and adhesives.
Cytec Increases Prices on Powder Coating Resins and on Additives for Powder Coatings Cytec Industries Inc., West Paterson, N.J., announced that effective July 1, 2007, or as contracts allow, it is increasing the prices of its CRYLCOAT® powder coating resins and its ADDITOL® additives for powder coatings. The price increases will be between $0.05/lb and $0.07/lb, depending on the grade. They will apply to all shipments on or after July 1, 2007, sold in North and South America.

Eliokem Ups Costs on All Pliolite, Plioway and Pliotec Resins Eliokem, Akron, Ohio, announces price increases for the whole range of its specialty resins for all North American markets effective July 1, 2007. The increases for Pliolite and Plioway dry resins are 7% for list and off-list prices as contract agreements allow. Pliotec latex will increase by $0.05/lb.
BASF to Increase Prices for Polyalcohols in North America Effective July 1, 2007, or as contracts allow, BASF, Florham Park, N.J., will increase list and off-list selling prices for polyalcohols in the United States, Canada and Mexico as follows:
- HDO® 1,6-Hexanediol: $0.05/lb
- NEOL® Neopentyglycol – all grades: $0.03/lb
- Epsilon-Caprolactone (CLO): $0.10/lb
OPC Polymers Forced to Raise Prices Across All Product Lines OPC Polymers, Columbus, Ohio, will raise prices across all product lines effective on shipments after July 1, 2007. Prices will increase as much as $0.07 per pound due to an avalanche of raw material cost increases including, but not limited to, vinyl toluene, soybean oil, solvents and may other basic resin building blocks.
All customers will receive letters informing them of the actual increase amounts for those products they purchase. Any questions should be directed to the OPC Customer Service Department.
Tronox Announces Increases in Titanium Dioxide Prices Tronox Incorporated, Oklahoma City, on behalf of its subsidiary companies, announced price increases for all TRONOX® titanium dioxide grades sold in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Effective July 1, 2007, or as contracts allow, TRONOX® grades sold in Europe will increase by 80 euros per ton and grades sold in the Middle East and Africa will increase by US$120 per ton. Other increases may be announced locally within each region.

Joseph S. Pontoski Named FSCT Executive Director
The board of directors of the Federation of Societies for Coatings Technology has announced the appointment of Joseph S. Pontoski to the position of executive director of the organization. Employed by FSCT for over 10 years, Pontoski has been serving as FSCT chief operating officer with the added responsibilities of executive director since the resignation of Robert F. Ziegler earlier this year.
