Bayer MaterialScience Raises Prices
Bayer MaterialScience AG has raised the prices for hydroxyacrylates, unsaturated polyester resins and alkyd resins in the region EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) by an average of EUR 0,15/kg, effective Sept. 15, 2007.
The price rise safeguards the availability of necessary production capacity and logistics. Persistently high costs for raw materials and energy, as well as continuously high expenses to fulfill the necessary safety standards and regulatory requirements, cannot be offset by internal measures to increase efficiency alone. This does not affect contractual obligations in existence as of Aug. 29, 2007.
Cytec Announces Price Increases for Waterborne Resins and Additives
Cytec Industries Inc., West Paterson, NJ, announced that it is increasing the prices of its entire range of VANCRYL® waterborne resins and additives in the Americas for orders shipped on or after Sept. 1, 2007, or as contracts allow. Prices will advance by U.S. $0.10 per pound for solid grades and by U.S. $0.05 per pound for all other grades. The increase is necessitated by the continued, unprecedented rise in the cost of raw materials, especially acrylate and methacrylate esters.
