Linseed Oil Price Hike Leads to Resin Surcharge
Due to the rising cost of linseed oil on the world commodity market, Reichhold, Inc. has announced a surcharge on products containing linseed oil, effective October 1, 2007. The surcharge is based on the percentage of linseed oil used in oil-modified urethanes, uralkyds and select alkyd resins manufactured by the company’s Coatings Division.
The company plans to contact its customers with specific information about the amount of the surcharge.

Cytec Announces Price Increases
Cytec Industries Inc., West Paterson, NJ, has announced that it is increasing the prices of selected UV/EB curable specialty monomers, specialty oligomers and photoinitiators in the Americas for orders shipped on or after October 15, 2007.
Prices will advance between five to seven percent depending on the product family, and as contracts allow.

WACKER POLYMERS Adjusts Prices for Dispersions and Dispersible Polymer Powders
WACKER POLYMERS is raising its prices worldwide for VINNAPAS® dispersions and dispersible polymer powders. The increase will range up to 15 percent for different product groups and regions and, unless otherwise agreed, will come into force on November 1, 2007.

Dow Raises Epoxy Novolac Resin Prices in North America
Dow Epoxy has announced list and off-list price increases in North America for D.E.N. Epoxy Novolac resins and solutions.
Effective October 1, or as contract terms allow, prices for these products in the region will increase by $0.10 per pound. All other terms and conditions of sale for these products remain unchanged.

Air Products Polymers Announces Price Increases
Air Products Polymers, L.P. has announced that, effective November 1, 2007, it will implement a $0.04 per-wet-pound price increase for all vinyl acetate homopolymer and copolymer, vinyl acetate ethylene copolymer, vinyl acetate vinyl chloride copolymer, and vinyl acrylic-based emulsions. These products are sold by the company under the Airflex®, Flexbond® and Vinac® trademarks. This price adjustment, applicable to all North American sales, reflects tight supply and corresponding rising prices for a wide range of raw materials for these products.

Aqualon Increases Prices
Effective November 1, or as contracts allow, Aqualon will increase worldwide prices by five percent for Natrosol® hydroxyethylcellulose, Natrosol Plus modified hydroxyethylcellulose, Natrosol FPS fluidized polymer suspensions,  Aquaflow® rheology modifiers, Klucel®  hydroxypropylcellulose, Aqualon® ethylcellulose and all Aqualon brands of carboxymethylcellulose supplied to the coatings industry.

Silberline Announces Sales Policy Change for the Americas
Effective November 1, 2007, Silberline Manufacturing Co., Inc., Hometown, PA, will change several existing sales policies for associated service charges and container standardization options. The policy changes include minimum invoice amount, less-than-truckload (LTL) freight terms, special packaging charges and break-pallet charges.
