OBITUARY Industry Loses Helmut Ricke Helmut Ricke died at home on August 28, 2007. He was employed with Everlight USA in Charlotte, NC, since 1998 as Director of Sales and Marketing-UVA Stabilizers. Ricke was a native of Germany who immigrated to the United States in 1965 and proudly became an American citizen. He is survived by his fiancé, two children, one stepdaughter and six grandchildren. |

Solvay Chemicals Raises Prices for Hydrogen Peroxide Solvay Chemicals Inc. will increase off-list prices for all commodity grades of hydrogen peroxide effective November 1, 2007 or as contracts permit. The following schedule applies: U.S. and Canada commodity grades will increase USD 0.04/lb. or CAD 88/mt (100% basis); and export commodity grades will increase USD 88/mt. (100% basis). Solvay Chemicals will maintain the current energy surcharge program. This program remains in place as long as the NYMEX Henry Hub price for natural gas is above $5.00/MMBTU.

LANXESS Increases Price of Trimethylolpropane Effective immediately, LANXESS is increasing prices worldwide for trimethylolpropane (TMP). In Europe the price will increase by EUR 150 per metric ton and in the overseas markets by USD 200 per metric ton. This price increase is a result of increased raw material costs.
