BASF to Increase Prices for Specialty Acrylic Monomers in North America
Effective January 1, 2008, or as contracts allow, BASF will raise prices in North America between 10 to 15 percent for its specialty acrylic monomers, including hydroxyethyl acrylate, hydroxypropyl acrylate, tert-butyl acrylate, tert-butyl methacrylate and iso-butyl acrylate. This action is necessary due to escalating energy, transportation and raw material costs in the region.
LANXESS Increases Prices Worldwide
The Basic Chemicals business unit of LANXESS is increasing its prices worldwide for its entire product portfolio by five per cent with immediate effect. The primary factors behind this measure are higher raw material and energy expenses, but rising logistics costs have also played a role.
