OMNOVA Solutions Increases Price of Specialty Chemicals OMNOVA Solutions' Specialty Chemicals business has announced a price increase of up to $0.06 per wet pound for acrylic, styrene acrylic, vinyl acrylic and vinyl acetate emulsion polymers. The increase is effective May 8, 2008, for all specialty markets and is in addition to increases announced earlier this year. This announcement is necessitated by the unprecedented escalation of the costs of energy, freight and key raw materials.
Evonik Raises Price of Polymers and Monomers Evonik Industries AG, Germany, will raise prices of its entire range of high-performance polymers and monomers by an average of 10 percent, depending on region, product type and invoice currency. Customers will be informed of specific price increases by their regional representatives. The increase will become effective June 1, 2008.
EPS Increases Price of Solvent-Based Resins As a result of sharp increases in the price of solvents and other key raw materials, EPS has announced an increase for all solvent-based resins effective June 1, 2008. Increase amounts will be up to 7 cents per pound depending on product class.
