His passing at the age of 41 leaves a void that extends far beyond his professional achievements. Eric was not only a devoted father but also a fiercely loyal champion for the industry he loved, dedicating his boundless energy to board roles with the PNWSCT and the Western Coating Show with his characteristic zeal.

Eric’s entry into the coatings industry began after earning his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Washington. He then immersed himself in diverse roles at ChemPoint – Univar, progressing from market developer to principal/product manager, and subsequently to sales manager and senior principal/product manager within their chemical division. Following this period, he embarked on a year of global travel, exploring numerous fascinating countries. In 2014, Brenntag Specialties Inc. – Material Sciences for the Pacific Northwest further solidified his position in the industry, where he cultivated new relationships with principals and customers alike. Eric developed a particular passion for silicone technology, contributing to various significant projects.

In 2018, Eric joined Ravago Chemicals as a senior account manager, driving sales growth. Concurrently, he served as president of the Pacific Northwest Society for Coatings Technology, actively supporting numerous CoatingFest and other local chapter events. He especially enjoyed volunteering and judging at science fairs and expos. After years of dedicated support for the Western Coating Symposium, Eric assumed the presidency, spearheading the planning of the 2023 show in Las Vegas. His innovative additions to that event included the Innovation Lounge and the Western Coating Show Podcast, both of which remain accessible online. Eric later returned to the Brenntag division for several more years before accepting his most recent and exciting role in April 2025 as the national sales director for System Three.

Eric’s engagement with the coatings world transcended mere professional involvement; he was deeply immersed in it. His passion was palpable, electrifying every client interaction, volunteer meeting, and even his personal projects, where he proudly featured locally sourced PNW products or those he championed professionally. He didn’t simply finalize deals; he cultivated enduring partnerships grounded in unwavering trust and a profound understanding that went beyond transactional relationships.

Eric’s commitment extended significantly beyond his professional accomplishments. His years of dedicated service on the boards of the PNWSCT and the Western Coating Show stand as a powerful testament to his steadfast belief in the transformative power of collaboration and innovation within the industry. He thrived as a connector, a catalyst for learning, and a passionate advocate for new ideas, leaving an indelible mark on the many individuals across the industry who had the privilege of knowing him.
