Automotive Coatings World Alliance (ACWA), a new alliance formed by OHASHI Chemical in Japan, MÄDER Group in Europe and SPRAYLAT Corp. in the U.S., aims to create a global supply and service chain for automotive interior coatings to all car companies and their main suppliers. The mutual cooperation agreement was signed on May 20, 2008, by Antonio Molina, chairman of MÄDER, Kazumoto Ohashi, chairman of OHASHI Chemical and Michael Borner, CEO of SPRAYLAT. The three partners agreed to share technology, commercial strengths and approvals, and manufacturing facilities in order to meet and exceed their customers’ demanding expectations in terms of interior innovation and quality.

The three companies generate a yearly revenue exceeding $450 million (€300 million), including $100 million (€70 million) in the field of plastics coatings materials, such as those used in automotive interiors.

ACWA associates already serve most of the global automotive companies through their major Tier 1 suppliers. Together, they are now able to combine the strengths and skills of more than 10 R&D centers, as well as 20 manufacturing sites over Asia, North America and Europe.
