BASF Colorants and Chemicals Co. Ltd., Shanghai, China, has started production at a new acrylic dispersions plant in Shanghai. The plant produces a range of dispersions for coatings, adhesives and construction materials, and sizing agents for paper products. The company said production is aimed primarily at the Chinese domestic market, with some export to other Asian markets anticipated. BASF also produces acrylic dispersions in India, Pakistan, Indonesia, Australia, The Philippines and Japan.
