Cytec Industries Inc., West Paterson, N.J., has plans for a new production unit to manufacture RESYDROL® water-based alkyds at the company's Wallingford, Conn., facility. The additional capacity will help shorten the supply chain process and increase Cytec's ability to respond to customer needs in North America. Current plans are for the plant to come on-stream during the first quarter 2008.

"This expansion will strengthen Cytec's position as the leader in water-based alkyd resins globally," said Frank Aranzana, vice president, Cytec Surface Specialties. "The expansion in the Americas is in response to the growing market need for water-based products that meet new volatile organic compounds regulations. This new production unit further strengthens our global offering and allows our customers in the Americas to benefit from a broader product portfolio and better service," added Aranzana.
