Dow Polyurethanes, a business group of The Dow Chemical Co., has completed the acquisition of British Vita’s polyurethane systems business, Hyperlast Ltd. The Hyperlast acquisition includes elastomer systems enterprises in the United Kingdom and North America, as well as Autothane Ltd., a leading manufacturer of advanced automotive suspension components.
Dow announced its intention to acquire Hyperlast on March 5, pending regulatory approval. According to the company, the acquisition supports Dow’s strategy to drive growth in its Performance portfolio to generate more consistent earnings. The addition of Hyperlast reportedly expands Dow’s ability to produce innovative spray cast elastomers for the marine, engineering resin, oil and gas pipeline and automotive industries.
