BATAVIA, Ill. - DS Containers’ two-piece steel can took first place in the aerosol category at the International Cans of the Year competition held in Barcelona, Spain, in October 2006. With no side seam and no shoulder seam, the innovative can features a unique application of a polymer coating to tin-free steel. The winning entry was made in Batavia, Ill., using proprietary technology developed by DSC’s partner, Daiwa Can Company of Japan.
