ICI Paints’ Glidden unit has signed an exclusive license agreement with Ralph Lauren Home.

CLEVELAND — ICI Paints’ Glidden Co. unit has signed an exclusive license agreement with Ralph Lauren Home, a division of Polo Ralph Lauren, under which Glidden will assume responsibility for manufacturing, sales and distribution of the Ralph Lauren Paint line, effective Jan. 1, 2001. The Sherwin-Williams Co., which earlier announced it would end its license agreement with Lauren, will continue to distribute Ralph Lauren Paint through Dec. 31.

Under the agreement with Glidden, Ralph Lauren Home will be responsible for product design and marketing. Ralph Lauren Paint, introduced in 1996, consists of a line of premium interior latex paint offered in coordinated lifestyle groups and various textural applications. The paint line is available at The Home Depot and some independent paint stores in the United States and Canada.
