ICA Group has developed a new line of water-based UV gloss coatings for use as final topcoats on wood furniture and accessories. These new polishable, monocomponent UV coatings are available in both transparent (UVA900) and pigmented (UVA901) versions to meet the current trend for furniture with a gloss finish. In addition to a reduced environmental impact, the coatings also make it possible to achieve consistent results in terms of quality, the company reports.

The system can be sprayed onto polyurethane, water-based or solvent-based base coats, polyester base coats or UV base coats. Once the water has evaporated, the topcoat can be dried using high-powered UV lamps.
