ISTANBUL, Turkey - NürnbergMesse and Vincentz Network, the long-term event partners for international coatings and paint exhibitions and congresses, have concluded a new pioneering cooperation. After successful negotiations, Bosad, the Turkish association for the coatings and paint industry, NürnbergMesse and Vincentz Network have sealed a cooperation agreement for paintistanbul, which takes place in Istanbul, Turkey, in the fall of 2012.
Taking place every two years, paintistanbul has developed into the most important congress and exhibition for the coatings and paint industry in the region. The last event attracted 325 exhibitors and company representatives and over 10,000 trade visitors to Istanbul in 2010. The visitors were mainly from Turkey (87 percent), but also from the Turkic countries, the Middle East, the Mediterranean region, Central and Western Europe, the United States, China and other regions around the world.
Istanbul has always been considered a bridge between Orient and Occident and has proved its importance as one of the most important trading places and meeting place for international relationships over and over again. Istanbul is also the symbol for Turkey’s role as modern, powerful motor of the economy at the interface between East and West. The domestic coatings and paint market in 2010 was estimated at some 800,000 tons of material and a value of EUR 1.6 billion. Forecasts assume 12-percent growth in 2011 and further average annual growth of 7 percent in the coming five years.
The Turkish coatings and paint association Bosad (Boya Sanayicileri Derneği) is the official organizer of paintistanbul. CNR Expo, the owner of the largest exhibition site in Turkey, has been appointed to organize the event in 2012. NürnbergMesse and Vincentz Network will organize numerous marketing activities for paintistanbul 2012 in the course of the exhibitions, the European Coatings SHOW and the American Coatings SHOW, arrange the congress program together with Bosad, and take over international sales in Europe, South and East Asia, and North, Central and South America.
