Plasticolors said the purchase reflects the company's focus on the supply of colorants and additives for high-performance specialty paint and coatings. The company said production of the acquired products will be transferred from Spartan's location in Houston to Plasticolors' facility in Ashtabula, OH.

Plasticolors said formulas, raw materials, test methods, specifications and standards will remain unchanged. "Pricing, quality, delivery, packaging and labeling will remain consistent with what customers are currently receiving," said Scott Becker, Plasticolors' chief operating officer.

Plasticolors is a supplier of pigment and chemical dispersions to the paint, coatings, caulk, sealants and plastics industries.
