Red Spot Paint & Varnish announced an agreement to acquire “substantially all” of the operating assets of Seibert-Oxidermo.

EVANSVILLE, IN — Red Spot Paint & Varnish Co. Inc. announced an agreement to acquire “substantially all” of the operating assets of Seibert-Oxidermo Inc., a Romulus, MI-based company that specializes in the manufacture of primers for plastics and other coatings for the transportation industry. The acquisition will give Red Spot “further penetration into other areas of the transportation market and complements our core business,” said Red Spot President and CEO Charles D. Storms.

Red Spot, based in Evansville, IN, is a manufacturer of OEM coatings, with particular emphasis on coatings for plastics. The company’s products include polyurethane, waterborne and UV-cure coatings sold worldwide. The company operates manufacturing facilities in Evansville and Westland, MI; a research center in Evansville; and a coatings-application center in Plymouth, MI.
