LANCASTER, S.C. - Soliant, LLC, received the Environmental Award in the Emerging Technologies category at the GPEC 2006, February 28 - March 2, in Atlanta, for its innovative, commercially adopted paint-film process that reduces emissions to the environment by 98% when compared to traditional vehicle painting. The 98% reduction in emissions is based on an analysis of the production and use of this product compared to traditional vehicle painting conducted by the environmental consulting firm MM&A, LLC.

GPEC 2006 is the annual Global Plastics Environmental Conference and Awards Program produced by the Environmental Division of the SPE (Society of Plastics Engineers).

Subramanian, chairman of the SPE GPEC Awards Committee, in his letter of congratulations to Soliant. In addition, Soliant met all GPEC Award criteria, including leadership in plastics and the environment, generating significant economic value, and creating new markets (paint alternatives) that will benefit the environment and the quality of life.

Another environmental and cost benefit realized through the production and use of Soliant paint films is that no management and disposal of solvents and chemicals associated with conventional painting or plating processes are necessary. Environmental-compliance costs associated with the use of Soliant paint films are minimal.
