Patrick Kinlen, Ph.D., is chief technology officer of Crosslink, headquartered in St. Louis, MO, developer and supplier of the polyaniline-based conductive polymer coating. Kinlen guides and executes all research and development functions for Crosslink. Under his technical leadership, Crosslink created polymer-based technologies for mass application in a variety of industries. Prior to joining Crosslink, Kinlen spent 22 years specializing in material science and electro-chemistry for Monsanto Co., where he was a Monsanto Fellow and technical project leader for the Monsanto Growth Enterprises conductive polymer team. He can be reached at pkinlen@crosslinkusa.com.
New coatings based on a conductive polymer known as soluble doped polyaniline can offer a significant improvement in functionality and ease of application over current capacitor coating technologies. The new coatings provide the same benefits as traditional conductive polymer-based coatings but with significantly less manufacturing time, as well as other enhanced attributes.
