PPG Architectural Coatings Honored by CIO Magazine
CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA – IDG's CIO® Magazine announced PPG Architectural Coatings U.S. and Canada (USCA) as a recipient of the 2015 CIO 100® Award. PPG was honored for development of a digital kiosk that aids consumers in selecting paint colors for home décor projects. The award recognizes organizations around the world that exemplify the highest level of operational and strategic excellence in information technology (IT).
The award-winning kiosk, the PPG Color Work Station, was released in May 2014 as part of a new in-store retail color palette display with an integrated 42-inch digital touchscreen work station. The integrated digital work station provides tools to help customers explore color options such as the abilities to virtually paint room images with any color, to scan color chips and brochures with a barcode reader to view color on a larger scale on the screen, and to receive swatches and images of virtually painted rooms at home via email to view later. The state-of-the-art kiosk is part of THE VOICE OF COLOR® program by PPG and can be found at PPG PAINTS™ stores and independent dealer locations across the United States.
