NSF International Finalizes First EPD for PPG’s Architectural Coatings
ANN ARBOR, MI – NSF Sustainability, a division of global public health organization NSF International, has verified an environmental product declaration (EPD) for PPG Paints™ SPEEDHIDE® zero Interior Zero VOC latex paint.
An EPD is an internationally recognized and standardized tool that reports the environmental impacts of products as identified in a life cycle assessment (LCA). Through an LCA, environmental impacts associated with a product or service are identified and quantified throughout its life cycle. NSF Sustainability previously developed a product category rule (PCR) for architectural coatings that defines the information that must be covered by an LCA and included in the EPD report.
