MEXICO CITY — CHEMSPEC Ltd., a member of the SAFIC-ALCAN GROUP family of companies, has formed a subsidiary that will serve the Mexican industrial manufacturing sector. CHEMSPEC MÉXICO S. DE RL DE C.V. will be based out of Mexico City and will provide sales and technical support to the elastomer compounding industry, such as tire and technical rubber production, while also supporting the Mexican coatings, adhesives, sealants, and elastomers (CASE) and plastics market segments. ChemSpec México will offer, throughout all regions of Mexico, a large portion of its current performance products portfolio of specialty and commodity chemical additives and specialty polymers.
ChemSpec President Dave Moreland commented, “This move aligns with Safic-Alcan’s overall strategy of growing its presence across the NAFTA region. Further, ChemSpec has always done its best to follow market trends so that we can better service our customer base. Over the past several years, many manufacturing companies of various sorts have opened up production locations in regions throughout northern and central Mexico, and in turn, more and more of our customers have asked us to support their Mexican operations. I think by creating a Mexican business entity, which allows us more flexibility logistically, while also having employees ‘on the ground,’ better enables ChemSpec to support our Mexico-based customers, and at the same time, will help continue to grow our business.”
