Explosion Rocks BASF’s Ludwigshafen Site, Killing One and Injuring at Least Six
LUDWIGSHAFEN, Germany - At least one person has died and six people injured in an explosion and fire at chemical company BASF’s site in Ludwigshafen, Germany. The company reports that another six people are not yet accounted for.
According to the Associated Press, Plant Manager Uwe Liebert reported the explosion happened after a fire broke out in a pipeline where liquids are loaded and unloaded.
