NACD President Warns Time Is Running Out for CFATS Reauthorization
ARLINGTON, VA – National Association of Chemical Distributors (NACD) President and CEO Eric R. Byer issued a statement on the importance of reauthorizing the Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS) program before it expires on April 18, 2020.
In the statement, Byer wrote, “NACD is disappointed in Congress’s failure so far to reauthorize the CFATS program administered by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, which is vital to ensuring the chemical industry and regulators work together to keep our nation’s chemical facilities secured against potential acts of terrorism.”
