GEO Specialty Chemicals announced a $5-million investment for the company’s TRIMET Products Group.
GEO Specialty Chemicals, Cleveland, announced a $5-million investment program for the company’s Allentown, PA, facility, the headquarters for the company’s TRIMET Products Group. The business produces specialty polyols and related chemicals for paint and coatings applications. The investment program will include infrastructure, process and product-quality improvements, the company said. TRIMET products include trimethylolethane, used in water-soluble alkyds, high-solids polyesters and powder coatings; and dimethylolpropionic acid, an ingredient used in the production of polyurethane dispersions, and in waterborne alkyd and polyester resins and electrodeposition coatings.
