Ultrasonic Deblinding System Improves Powder Coating Sieving
Sieving of powder coatings after fine grinding has been a standard production technique for many years. The sieve is normally used as a check or safety screen to remove not only extraneous contaminants such as fluff from filter bags, but also oversize 'flakes' and 'nibs', which can sometimes pass through the air-swept mill and the cyclone classifier. Oversize particles generally consist of material that has polymerized on the screw of the extruder or formed on the inside of a valve or hopper.
Most sieves used throughout the world are of the vibratory type, and with the advent of larger-capacity mills there has been a need for greater-capacity screens to be placed beneath them.
