BASF, Dow Move Ahead With Plans for PO Plant Employing New Technology
LUDWIGSHAFEN, Germany - BASF AG and The Dow Chemical Co. announced plans to proceed with the construction of a "world-scale" propylene oxide production plant in Antwerp, Belgium, using the companies' hydrogen peroxide-to-propylene oxide technology.
Construction will begin in 2006, with production anticipated to begin in 2008; the facility's initial production capacity will be about 300,000 metric tons.
