Home » Shift To Lighter Colors For Products Forecast
ALEXANDRIA, VA — A more “spiritual, meditative feeling” will lead to a shift toward lighter colors “inspired by emotions, dreams and the senses,” the Color Marketing Group (CMG) says in a forecast of long-range color trends expected to emerge in various manufactured-products markets.
The CMG’s forecast for the Contract/ Commercial industries in 2002, based on the views of CMG members meeting last October in Palm Springs, CA, predicts increased popularity for colors inspired by the air and sea. “Land-based” hues will maintain a presence in color choices, while technology and the demand for customization will also contribute to color trends, the organization says.
