CLEVELAND — John G. Breen, who recently retired as chairman of The Sherwin-Williams Co., was honored for distinguished service in ceremonies naming the company’s Cleveland Technical Center the John G. Breen Technology Center. U.S. Senator George Voinovich was the guest speaker at the dedication ceremony, attended by Sherwin-Williams senior management, board of directors members and approximately 2,000 employees.
Breen, who retired in April, served as Sherwin-Williams chairman and CEO for 21 years, presiding over revenue growth from $1.1 billion to more than $5 billion in 1999, and growth in net income from $5 million to $304 million.
