Acrylated Performance Products for Floor Coatings With High Scratch and Abrasion Resistance
Floor coatings are commonly used to provide aesthetics and increased durability, especially scratch and abrasion resistance. Wood flooring is normally coated with multiple layers, consisting of a sandable filler, intermediate/build coats and a hard topcoat. In many cases the sandable filler is also used as the build coat. Total coating thickness is between 6 to 10 mils, depending on required wear resistance and cost constraints.
UV-curable coatings are increasingly being used to design floor finishes because of the higher productivity and performance properties achieved with these systems. In addition, since they do not contain organic solvents, UV coatings facilitate compliance with stringent environmental regulations.
