PPG Industries said J. Rich Alexander has been named general manager of Global Industrial Coatings.

PITTSBURGH — PPG Industries Inc. said J. Rich Alexander has been named general manager of Global Industrial Coatings in a swap of management assignments with Bernard Ouimette, who was appointed general manager of Fiber Glass Reinforcements. PPG said the moves reflect a company program to strengthen its operations by broadening the experience of its managers.

Alexander joined PPG in 1978 as a fiber glass market research analyst, and also has held sales and management positions in the company’s fiber glass business. He was most recently general manager of Fiber Glass Reinforcements.
