Chemical Company Pays Over $63 Million for Cleanup of Hazardous Waste Sites
WASHINGTON, DC – W.R. Grace & Co., Columbia, MD, under its bankruptcy plan of reorganization, paid over $63 million to the U.S. government to resolve claims for environmental cleanups at approximately 39 sites in 21 states, according to the U.S. Department of Justice and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
W.R. Grace’s payment includes approximately $54 million for the EPA. The company agreed to pay another $9 million to other federal agencies, including the U.S. Department of Interior and the U.S. Army.
