YPSILANTI, MI – Jamil Baghdachi, Professor of Engineering Technology at Eastern Michigan University, has been inducted as one of the 2014 Fellows of the American Chemical Society (ACS).
The ACS recognized the Fellows in August during its 248th national meeting and exposition in San Francisco. The class included 99 scientists who have demonstrated outstanding accomplishments in chemistry and who have made significant contributions to science, the community and to the ACS.
Baghdachi arrived on Eastern’s campus 17 years ago after spending 15 years in the industry. He has taught and mentored thousands of students at the university and within the industry through professional training courses. Many of these former students are now making their own technical and scientific contributions in academia and the science industry.
