BASF Raises Prices of Formulation Additives

LUDWIGSHAFEN, Germany — Effective Jan. 5, 2021, or as existing contracts allow, BASF is increasing prices globally for a large part of its formulation additives for the paint and coatings industry, such as the Attagel^®, Dispex^®, Efka^®, Foamaster^®, Foamstar^®, Hydropalat^®, Loxanol^® and Rheovis^® grades.

Prices will increase from 5-10 percent, depending on region. The company stated that the increases are needed to compensate for increasing costs from transportation, safety, legislation and registration requirements (e.g. REACH, TSCA.
