MATERIALS: Coating Systems Debuts UV Resistant Coating - Posted 7/25/07

Coating Systems Inc., in conjunction with a leading developer of nanocoatings, has developed a UV protective coating called CSI SolarShield. Testing at Eastern Michigan University, along with DuPont and Sherwin Williams labs, reportedly has shown the coating to have a Delta E rating of .61 color changes during simulated five years of direct sunlight. Along with its UV protection, it also has anti-marking/self cleaning abilities and salt spray resistance. Possible uses include skylights, automotive wheels, boats and machines in harsh environments.
