Jim's career includes work at Pfizer Minerals, Pigments and Metals Division as an R&D chemist; later promoted to R&D Laboratory Manager. He has been the Technical Director at two small coatings companies. Both companies specialized in contractor coatings for exterior substrates, including concrete and wood. In 2004 he joined Ciba Specialty Chemicals in Newport, DE. His position was Senior Scientist, with duties including process and product with a special emphasis on commercializing horizontal media milling and pigment surface treatments. His career continued at Troy Corporation, as a senior chemist. Currently, he is a technical consultant for the paint and coatings industry.
