Kevin Biller aka “Joe Powder” has been formulating and manufacturing powder coatings since he began his career in 1978 at the Glidden Paint Company. His illustrious career has taken him from the confines of the laboratories of major coatings companies to the entrepreneurial world as an operations manager and the owner of a powder coating manufacturer. On his way, he has published over 500 articles in various trade publications including Paint & Coatings Industries, Powder Coated Tough, Focus on Powder Coatings, International Paint & Coatings Magazine, Finishing Today and PPCJ (Polymers Paint Colour Journal). He regularly publishes his Ask Joe Powder column in North America, Europe and the Middle East.

In 2007 Biller established the Powder Coating Research Group, which he sold to The ChemQuest Group in 2021. Now known as ChemQuest Powder Coating Research, this Columbus OH based R&D laboratory is a center of excellence in powder coating innovation, evaluation and testing. The ChemQuest Group is recognized globally as a leader in consulting and strategy services for the specialty chemicals and materials industries.
