Scott Van Remortel earned his B.S. in Polymer & Coatings Technology from Eastern Michigan University in 1992. He has over 30 years of experience with mineral filler processing, and coatings and polymers applications development. His expertise ranges from UV curing to architectural and silicone elastomers to cool roof fillers for coatings. Scott holds several patents for coating fillers, UV technology and polymer composites. Scott is presently a member of the Industrial Advisory Council  Cal Poly, SLO Coating Program and is co-organizer of the biannual Wood Coatings and Substrate Conference held at UNC-Greensboro. He has a son and daughter in college, and his wife (Bridget) runs an artisan bakery from their home in Bakersville in the Blue Ridge Mountains near Asheville, NC.
