More and more, powder coating producers are under pressure to improve plant performance, with a requirement to produce larger quantities, as well as quicker turnarounds of smaller size batches, all while reducing the waste that ends in land fill. This, coupled with producing newer product technologies such as lower cure temperature coatings, and using higher fills of lower bulk density materials, means machinery manufacturers have been set a challenge to ensure their equipment is up to the task. Further to this, the need to reduce operator intervention and improve the quality of data acquisition and analysis has resulted in the redevelopment of the industry benchmark Baker Perkins MP PC range of extruders. This session will highlight Baker Perkins’ MPX solutions to these tough demands, presenting the introduction of the Baker Perkins MAX³ feed system (patent applications 17194026.5 1706 & 15/720,671) and Industry 4.0 (IIoT) readiness.
