Katharina was born in November 1984 in Poland and moved to Germany with her parents and younger sister in 1989. She grew up in Bad Honnef, a town near Bonn in the Rhineland. After spending her entire school years there, she moved to Bonn for her studies of chemistry at Friedrich-Wilhelms University, which she successfully completed with a diploma. She worked as a scientific associate in an academic research group with the main focus on organic chemistry relating to titanocene catalysis. Since 2015, she has been working at Wester Mineralien, today mainly in the role of a (business) developer.
