Resins

May 1, 2008

Sartomer:  Styrene Maleic Anhydride (SMA®) resins are multi-functional additives for use in thermoplastic formulations. The resins provide improved heat distortion properties while maintaining other physical properties. Their maleic functionality provides good crosslinking and efficient melt-flow modification of polyamide- and polyester-based materials. Imide derivatives of the base SMA resins are characterized by good thermal stability and are useful as additives in polyolefins to promote coating adhesion. All SMA resins are available in powder and flake forms.
