ENVIROCRON Powder Coatings Earn ANSI/NSF 61 Standard Certification
PITTSBURGH – PPG announced that ENVIROCRON® epoxy-based powder coatings are now certified to the ANSI/NSF 61 standard for drinking-water components, which means that manufacturers of metal pipes, tanks, fittings, valves and faucets can specify them for parts that contact drinking water, drinking-water chemicals or both.
Shelley Verdun, PPG Product Manager, Powder Coatings, said the certification enables PPG to fulfill requests for high-performance water- and food-safe powder coatings. Envirocron coatings have been NSF 51-certified for non-direct food contact applications for many years. “The new ANSI/NSF 61 certification will enable us to serve a broader universe of customers seeking durable, safe and attractive coatings for their products,” she explained.
