BARCELONA, Spain - AkzoNobel Automotive Plastic Coatings (APC), which produces coatings for plastic components for the automotive industry, has won global approval from German automaker BMW for its waterborne basecoat technology for exterior plastic applications. APC is one of Europe’s leading suppliers of automotive plastics coatings and also one of the leading suppliers globally.

 

The approval follows intensive testing to show that APC waterborne basecoats products and technology could meet BMW’s requirements by demonstrating compliance to the Group Standard GS 97045 for plastic exterior parts, as well as color approvals against BMW masters on both metal substrate and plastic-bumper substrate.
