WESEL, Germany - The specialty chemicals Group ALTANA has acquired the polyurethane casting resins business of ABB Micafil, a business unit of ABB Schweiz. The business operates under the brand names of Micares and Resodip. Polyurethane casting resins are used in electrical and electrical-engineering applications for high-voltage applications, among others, and in the automotive industry. The acquired business will be incorporated into the ELANTAS Electrical Insulation division. In the future, the products will be manufactured at the production sites in Collecchio, Italy, and Hamburg, Germany.
