Arch Chemicals Acquires Anti-Stain Product Maker

Arch Chemicals announced it has acquired the assets of Walker Brothers.

NORWALK, CT — Arch Chemicals Inc. announced it has acquired the assets of Walker Brothers, a division of Consolidated Coatings, a manufacturer of stain-blocking materials for wood products based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Arch said the purchase will expand its range of wood-treatment products.

Walker Brothers is a supplier of anti-sapstain products — biocidal blends applied to freshly cut lumber to prevent the growth of microorganisms that cause discoloration of the wood. Arch’s existing wood-protection products include pressure-applied wood preservatives designed to provide long-term resistance to termites and fungal decay for exterior wood products.
