HOGANAS, Sweden - Formed only in 1999, Becker Industrial Coatings Malaysia has outgrown its original manufacturing plant and has now successfully commissioned a larger plant of 5,500 square meters in Kota Kemuning, Selangor.
The new site was identified in 2004, and a groundbreaking ceremony took place that year. Just a year later, relocation to the new plant started, and current utilization of the new plant stands at over 80% of installed capacity.
In addition to serving the fast-growing Malaysian coil-coatings market, the plant supplies plastic coatings for mobile phones and exports to the burgeoning markets of Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia. Becker is also doing significant coil-coatings business in Vietnam and is currently identifying a suitable site for future manufacturing facilities.
