The new Elcometer 121/3 Universal Paint Inspection Gauge (P.I.G) from Elcometer Instruments Ltd. is designed to provide a quick, versatile method of coating examination, destructive measurement of coating thickness and cross hatch adhesion in a single, portable gauge. Made of titanium anodized aluminum for durability and lightness, the gauge can be used to test single or multiple coats on virtually all substrates, including wood, plastics and metal, as well as on thin substrates. With multiple coating layers, each layer can be easily identified and measured using the microscope with graticules. The gauge is capable of holding three knife sizes and one cross hatch knife but remains compact in size, making it ideal for use in confined areas.
